Circulation coins with face values of 1 som In accordance with Article 15 of the Law on the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, and pursuant to the Board Resolution N44/2 of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, "On Issuing Coins with Face Values of 1, 10, 50 tyiyns, and 1, 3, and 5 soms" dated October 11, 2007, a collectible coin with a face value of 1 tyiyn, circulation coins with face values of 10, 50 tyiyns, and 1, 3, and 5 soms shall be issued for circulation throughout the Kyrgyz Republic. The circulation coins with face values of 1 som shall be made of steel core finished with nickel. The obverse side of the coin shall bear an image of "kookor", a traditional Kyrgyz container made of leather for kymyz, the traditional drink. Each "kookor"image bears a symbol of "tumar" represented by a triangle; the latter is widely used in various Kyrgyz crafts. The reverse side of the coin shall bear the Coat of Arms of the Kyrgyz Republic and the year when the coin was issued.
