Obverse: On the right-hand side, an image of the Eagle
established as the state Emblem of the Republic of Poland; on
the left-hand side, a semicircular inscription: RZECZPOSPOLITA
POLSKA and the notation of the year of issue, 2005.
On the right-hand side of the Eagle, an inscription, 20/Zü. An
inscription, "Tutaj zawsze byliæmy wolni" [We have always
been free here] / JAN PAWEü II, against the background of the
stylized section of the Pauline monastery at Jasna Gra in
Cz«stochowa. The MintÕs mark, , under the EagleÕs left leg.
Reverse: Against the background of the stylized section of
Johanes BensheimerÕs etching entitled "Obl«ýenie Jasnej Gry
przez Szwedw w 1655 r." (The Jasna Gra siege by the Swedes
in 1655), on the right-hand side, a stylized portrait of Father
Augustyn Kordecki from a late 17th century painting. At the
top, a semicircular inscription, 350-LECIE OBRONY JASNEJ
GîRY.
On the edge: The inscription, CZ¢STOCHOWA 2005, repeated
three times, separated by stars.
