The most known Cervantes' work is "El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha" (The Ingenious Knight Don Quixote de la Mancha - Mancha is a region of Spain), or just "Don Quijote". This work is considered the first modern novel, and is the second most edited and translated of all times, only beat by the Bible. Cervantes was also known as "El Manco de Lepanto" (the one-handed from Lepanto) cause he was wound on the chest and left hand. The wounds made him lose the control of left hand, making it useless. The nickname is incorrect since he didn't lose the hand.
