rena Sendlerowa – an organizer of the network of social welfare workers who saved Jewish children in the ghetto and a head of the Council to Aid Jews called “Żegota.” Zofia Kossak – First and foremost, a distinguished writer. In September of 1942, she was a co-founder of the creation of the Provisional Committee to Aid Jews - “Żegota.” Sister Matylda Getter – when the war broke out, a 70-year-old sister Matylda brought help to those in need and the persecuted. At her home, at 53 Hoża Street, all those in need gathered. From here, sister Matylda coordinated operation of saving Jewish children . Israeli Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem awarded them one of the first Righteous among the Nations title ever bestowed. There appeared two coins that commemorate remarkable persons who, during the Second World War, risking their own lives and the lives of their beloved ones, were courageous enough to save the Jews. Obverse: In the center the image of an eagle established as an emblem of the Republic of Poland. Under the eagle a stylized image of a wall with a gap and a broken barbwire. To the left of the wall – the image of the Star of David. Below an inscription : 20 ZŁ (PLN 20) and – to the left - signature of emission date: 2009. At the top, a semicircular inscription RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA (REPUBLIC OF POLAND). Under the eagle’s left leg the symbol of the mint: M/W. Reverse: At the top a stylized image of the bust of sister Matylda Getter; to its right a semicircular inscription: SIOSTRA MATYLDA/GETTER (SISTER MATYLDA/GETTER). At the bottom a stylized image of the bust of Irena Sendlerowa; below a semicircular inscription: IRENA SENDLEROWA. At the bottom to the right a stylized image of the bust of Zofia Kossak; below a semicircular inscription: ZOFIA KOSSAK.
