Ukraine 2 Hryvni 2004 - Mykhailo Kotsubynsky

The coin is dedicated to the 140th birth anniversary of Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi (1864 - 1913), a talented Ukrainian writer and a public figure born in the city of Vinnytsia. Mykhailo M. Kotsiubynskyi is the author of such famous works as `Fata Morgana`, `Intermezzo`, `Laughter`, `Apple Blossom` and `Shadows of the Forgotten Ancestors`, which are bright examples of the Ukrainian prose of the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th centuries On the coin obverse there is a depiction of a conventionalized composition made of Heorhii Yakutovych`s engraving to `Shadows of the Forgotten Ancestors`. Above there are: a semicircular inscription: УКРАЇНА (Ukraine), the coin issue year - 2004 (left), the small National Emblem of Ukraine (right) and the coin face value - 2/ ГРИВНІ (2 hryvnia), left from the composition, as well as the Mint logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine.
