Ukraine 2 Hryvni 1999 - Panas Myrny

The coin is dedicated to 150th anniversary of Panas Myrnyi (P.Y.Rudchenko, 1849-1920), an outstanding democratic writer, author of the well-known realistic works: `How Can Bullocks Bellow while a Manger Full is?` `Lymerivna`, `Hungry Freedom`, `Streetwalker`, etc. On the coin reverse there is a depiction of the writer`s portrait surrounded by the conventionalized inscriptions: ПАНАС МИРНИЙ (П.Я.РУДЧЕНКО) (Panas Myrnyi (P.Y.Rudchenko), 1849 and 1920 and his facsimile On the coin obverse there is the small National Emblem of Ukraine in the centre of the circle made of beads, set in cranberry bush sprays and the conventionalized inscriptions: УКРАЇНА, 2 ГРИВНІ, 1999 (Ukraine/ 2/ hryvnia/ 1999).
