* The Borisoglebsk Church in Grodno is a pearl of Belarusian culture. It has no immediate analogs in old Russian architecture. In terms of its layout scheme, the monument is close to Greek architectural school. In accordance with the construction tradition, the Church was built on a high bank of the River Nyoman, harmonizing with the landscape and ancient construction system. The building is a six–column three–apsidal temple of the crosswise dome system. The outer walls are decorated with multicolor slip–glazed ceramic crosses and stones. Systematic row of resonating jars (vessels immured in the walls with their open ends coming out) improving acoustics in the temple are located in the walls. Although the temple does not stand in its integrity, it is an extremely interesting and unique monument of Orthodox architecture. The reverse has: in the center – the relief effigy of the Borisoglebsk (Kolozha) Church; a plate in the shape of an ancient seal features the date: XII, on top – inscription in three lines: "ПОМНIКI АРХIТЭКТУРЫ БЕЛАРУСI" (BELARUSIAN ARCHITECTURAL MONUMENTS), at the bottom – inscription: "БАРЫСАГЛЕБСКАЯ ЦАРКВА ГРОДНА" (BORISOGLEBSK CHURCH GRODNO). The obverse has: within the circular geometric ornament – the relief of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; beneath – year of issue, silver coin – fine silver content and alloy standard; inscriptions along the rim – at the top: "РЭСПУБЛIКА–БЕЛАРУСЬ" (REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), at the bottom: "ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ" (TWENTY ROUBLES) on the silver coin Minted by: The Mint of Poland PLC., Warsaw, Poland Silver, Alloy standard of silver: 925 Denomination, rubles: 20 Weight of coin, g: 33.63 Fine silver content, g: 31,1 Quality: "proof" Diameter, mm: 31,61 Mintage, pcs.: 2000
